Join the Area Agencies on Aging Association of Michigan for our (virtual) Annual Conference Stronger Together, 2021. We are pleased to offer a variety of educational sessions including topics such as social isolation, post-pandemic health concerns, learning cultural humility, current elder abuse legislation, and future trends in aging. Those who register for the two day conference will have access to ALL content up two weeks after the conference closes, so you do not have to miss any sessions!
This year’s annual Positive Approach to Care® Conference with Teepa Snow will highlight the changes that we all experience throughout life and how that connects or relates to dementia. The content will take a deeper look at the brain, the changes associated with dementia, and what each person can do to enhance the quality of life once dementia is in the picture. All brain and GEMS States and relationships with dementia are invited and breakouts will be provided for people living with dementia, care partners and friends, and professionals or organizations. All PAC Team Speakers will partner with advocates living with dementia for the sessions, providing a well-rounded, unique perspective on life with dementia. Sponsorships are available at many levels, starting with sponsoring all those living with dementia personally to attend the conference for free.

The impact of dementia can provide challenges to complete daily activities that were once considered simple. Challenging? Yes, but not necessarily impossible. You may be surprised that many challenges are not related to memory but due to changes in sensory perception. Learn firsthand about these changes directly from persons living with dementia and how they compensate for their daily challenges.
